Measurement
One-design or not; strictness
- The International Moth Class rules are open.
- The Bladerider Moth can be sailed as an open class, or as strict one design.
Measurement at Championships
- Length, beam and sail area are all required at Moth Class Championships.
- Additional measurement at Championships for one-design Bladerider can include hull weight, foil shape/size, sail dimensions and fixed mast length/width.
Time to measure a boat; tools requires
- Approximately 5-10 minutes including sail.
- Jig required to measure hull width and length.
- Jig required to measure mast width and length (if required).
- Jig required to measure foil length, width and chord shape (if required).
- Scales to measure hull weight (if required).
Opportunity to vary equipment within rules
- Front hydrofoil angle of attack.
- Front hydrofoil mechanisms and gearing.
- Sail control purchase system.
- Batten stiffness.
- Wand stiffness and length.
